The Case-Shiller U.S. Home Price Index is a home price index for the United States based on repeat sales of the same homes. This chart shows monthly data for this index when available and yearly otherwise. The data in in this chart is scaled such that the index has a value of 100 in the year 2000. The vertical axis uses a log scale to better illustrate the relative size of index value changes. This chart shows the change in U.S. national home prices over time. Most of the data in this chart comes from Robert Shiller's Data, but the most recent data comes from St. Louis Federal Reserve Series CSUSHPINSA.
