U.S. CPI Components - Monthly

Chart Description

This chart shows the top-level components of the monthly, Consumer Price Index for the U.S. The data is scaled so that the current data points map to 100. Therefore, a data point at 50 shows the time when prices for that category of consumer goods and services were half of what they are currently. This data originates at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, but is more easily retrieved from this St. Louis Federal Reserve CPI components table.
