This chart shows the monthly real (inflation adjusted) earnings (profits) at an annual rate (AR) for the Real S&P 500 Index. This data comes from economist Robert Shiller. This chart also shows a 10 year rolling average of earnings. That is, for each month, the rolling average is the average of the most recent 10 years of monthly earnings values.
